The Way to Lake Bled

Start your route with a visit to the spectacular Park Brdo to get your appetite for world-class nature generating from the get-go. This park offers wonderful nature, with endless green trees and a beautiful lake to enjoy. You can also view the cattle, Grad Brdo, from the park, which includes a wonderful building and perfectly curated gardens.

To reach the next destination, The Church of St. Primoz and Felicijan, you can park your car in the gravel carpark just before the sign for the church on the main road.

On the road to Bled lies a beautiful little church. The Church of St. Primoz and Pelicijan sits on a little green hill and is surrounded by the Julian Alps and the drive alone to reach the church is magnificent. Once you park your car, walk down the road until you reach the church. They are not usually open to the public, but the picturesque setting of the historical church against the natural backdrop offers lots to love from the exterior.

When you arrive to the wonderful Lake Bled, you'll see all the photos you've seen before didn't do it justice. A great place to soak up the scenery is at Ostarija Peglezn. Stop here for a morning coffee or hot drink and enjoy the view!

Now, it's time to get into the Heart of Lake Bled.. at the Hear tof Bled. This sculpture is situated right at the edge of the lake and encapsulates the love that people feel when surrounded by the beauty here. Stop in for pic and to enjoy more spectacular views.

Time for a delicious lunch among the scenery. Head to Pizzeria Grajska Preza for delciosu meals with a fanatstcis selection (mor ethan just pizzas!) as well as a wonderful view. They're open for lucnh eveyr day of the week except for Monday and can book in advance through their website.

After lunch, it's time for the journey to the wonderful Bled Castle. The castle itself offers beautiful historical architecture that's well maintained and hosts exhibitions inside.
Bled Castle is spectacular in its own right, with a beautiful heritage building on top of a narrow rock pillar, but once you're up there, the views over Lake Bled are just as stunning. I spent extra time here, as I couldn't pull myself away from the beauty of every angle.
Opening hours vary by the season, but the earliest they close throughout the year is 6 pm, so you should be fine at this time all year round. You can find more details here. Also, it's possible to buy tickets online.

For the next part of the day, you'll enjoy a hike through some of the best nature Lake Bled has to offer. To reach the trailhead of the site, park at the carpark for Velika Zaka and walk south along the path. You'll see signposts for the Oistrica trailhead, which you should keep following to find the trail.

After your visit to the castle, you can work up a sweat in the gorgeous nature by going for a lovely hike. Drive to Mala Osojnica Trailhead, park your car and follow the trail signs to begin your journey up. The trail is a short 30-minute hike, and at the top, there are incredible views that make for the perfect photo. It can be a steep incline, so make sure you only do it with good shoes. You can reach the trail by leaving your car along the footpath and following the marked signs on foot.

After your hike, the sky should be losing light which means you're about to see Lake bled through a whole new lens. Drive to Straza Hill and leave your car in the designated carpark before walking to the sunset view spot.

Follow the signs to reach Sunset View Straza. There are benches to relax on as you watch the sky change colour over the beautiful Lake Bled and it;s surrounding stunning nature.

After you've felt like you've enjoyed the view enough, walk back to the car, following the same trail. Jump in and get ready to head to a delicious dinner!
