Karlsruhe Palace was originally built as a summer residence for Margrave Karl Wilhelm during the 18th century. From here, the city of Karlsruhe developed around it, in its iconic fan shape. Inside the palace is the Badisches Landesmuseum (Baden State Museum), which presents 50,000 years of international cultural history.
You can park your car just across the square at Parkgarage Schlossplatz.

For lunch, enjoy some Syrian soul food at La Rose. It was originally a supermarket but was turned into a restaurant when the demand for their falafel grew. Try the crispy-yet fluffy falafel for yourself, followed by some baklava for dessert.

The Karlsruhe Botaical Garden was established in 1808 as a pleasure garden for the Margraves and Grand Dukes. It housed their exotic collection of plants and some rare trees from the 19th century are still standing in the garden today.

More than a museum, the ZKM Centre for Art and Media was established in 1989 with the purpose of continuing classical art into the digital age. Today, it features art of all types of mediums and genres such as painting, photography, film, music, dance and theatre.
