Did you know that there are 14 abbeys around the world? Amongst these, 6 are located in Belgium. The country is known for producing authentic Trappist beers and Chimay is one of them.
In the 19th Century, a small group of monks moved to the residence on the high plateau of Scourmont and decided to make beer from the water available in abundance on this marshy plateau. A few years later, they also began to produce cheese.
Espace Chimay offers an interactive visit where you will learn everything about the region, the monk life, the beers and the cheeses. The visit also includes the entrance the Scourmont Abbey.

The Brasserie du Quai is a wonderful place located on the banks of the Meuse. It has large bay windows that offer a breathtaking view of the river. In the summer time, enjoy the terrace and the magnificent view on the river. The menu is made out of delicious French dishes.
