High-Octane Fun & Adventure at Energylandia

After the heaviness of Auschwitz yesterday, it's time to blow off some steam and have some fun. Energylandia is the biggest theme park in this region and has some of the fastest rollercoasters in the world. This is going to be an adrenaline-packed day and a very memorable one for different reasons than yesterday.

It's been a short drive by car from Katowice. Before heading into the mayhem and excitement of Energylandia for the day, you can grab a quick coffee and frosted cake and this delightful little café. If it's a hot summer day, the ice cream is very yummy too. Cakes come in a range of hypnotizing colors. It's certainly a good spot to just take a breath after the car journey and get excited for what is to come - at Energylandia.

You could spend 2 days in Energylandia if you wanted to experience each ride multiple times and take a bite out of all the restaurants and cafes. On a slow winter's day, you can do all your chosen rides in a few hours. A good estimate to experience the place in full is 6 hours.
Energylandia is split up into ''zones'' or ''worlds''. Each zone has a separate theme and includes extreme rides, rides for younger children, and restaurants/cafe's to its taste.
For instance, in the Dragon Castle zone you have the huge ''Splinter'' rollercoaster - which is an absolute MUST do.
In the Fairytale zone, there is the very unique Dwarf Farm railway that takes you all around the zone. The kids will love this!
Restaurants are also themed and offer a wide menu for different tastes. You can have American Diner-style food, a traditional Polish meal of pierogi, or Asian fusion – to name a few. That's if you still have an appetite after feasting on casual hot dog stands, candy floss vendors and popcorn kiosks throughout the park.
This will definitely be a calorie-heavy day ... but the extreme rides should scare some of those calories out of your system :) The Tsunami Drop, for instance, might make you revisit your lunch :)
The park is open all year round and closes at 6 pm. As said, 6 hours is definitely enough to feel like you've done it all, even on a busy summer's day. Energylandia does offer accommodation - so if you're an extreme ride enthusiast and want to spend more than one day here - it's possible!

After the hedonism of Energylandia, it's time have a more peaceful and quiet evening. Twins restaurant is the perfect place to unwind. Don't be fooled by it's location - on a residential estate. That's exactly what makes it good place to hideaway for a bit while you enjoy dinner. The menu is varied and delicious. You can enjoy a burger and fries, a prime steak, salad...or traditional polish pierogi. The steak is surprisingly good quality and nicely priced.
