This excellent museum is truly a testament to the wonderful history of Perast whose golden age and flourishing came about between the years 1420 to 1797.
The prominence and importance of Perast came to a screeching halt around the end of the 18th century as the city came under the invasion of many enemies such as Austro-Hungarian Empire, Russia and France. Aside from this somber reality, the residents of this great city were persistent in preserving the memory of their golden age!

This old war relic was a fort built by the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the late 19th century to defend against Montenegrin forces that would emerge from mount Lovcen during WW1.
Now it sits as a somber reminder of a great conflict, but also as a symbol of hope for a peaceful future. The fort itself is unique because and its most notable feature is on its roof where you will see a 100-ton Gruson rotating turret, the last remaining example of its type.

It is time now for an excellent fine dining experience at Konoba Velji Mlini. This fabulous restaurant is appealing to all tastes, as it is both elegant and rustic in its interior decor.
