Abbaye Aulnenwas founded and erected in 637 CE by the priest and minister St Landelin, even though the original structure has been built on by the current building.
The current structure was built in the 13th century as a church but was destroyed during the French revolution. Only ruins remain now but it's well worth exploring the remaining ruins and getting a feel of what it was like hundreds of years ago.
