    Conquering the GR20

    Today, you are first going to taste the best wine in the Balagne region at the Domaine Alzipratu. After that, you will head to Calvi to explore a bit more and learn about the city and enjoy its nice culinary offerings. Your last activity before heading home will be a hike along the legendary GR20 trail.
    This is an exciting day! Please bring a water bottle, some adequate hiking boots and sunglasses.

    Located in the heart of Balagne where the confluence of climates from the sun of Balagne and the rainfall and the imminent Mediterranean climate brings humidity; the wines of Domaine Alzipratu are of the highest quality.
    You will drive from your hotel after taking breakfast and arrive here as your first stop for the morning.
    The family-run business boasts about 40 hectares of grapes, and it is also important to note that they also produce wine made from the local grape variety, Sciacarello.
    You are going to spend an hour here and taste and try their wines and most probably grab a few bottles for your friends back at home!

    The Calvi Citadel is one of the most notable features in Calvi alongside its characteristic pristine waters and crescent-shaped bay.
    The purpose of visiting this place is to have a nice visual exploration of the old city of Calvi. When you land here, you will enjoy a nice view of the underlying pure pristine waters.
    This medieval Citadel carries a lot of history and myth. In fact, an old myth has it that Christopher Columbus was born here. This is actually a firm belief amongst the Calvi locals who hold this fact close to their hearts. The Citadel was built by the rulers from Genoa who at that time were ruling the city to prevent invaders.

    Drive from the parking in Calvi for 2 hours and arrive at the GR20 trail. Here, you get to test your resoluteness and enjoy the amazing views. After your wine-tasting escapades, it's time to experience something different. The views this famous trail serves are unmatched. Hiking here is both exciting for the soul and challenging for the body.
    Remember to bring a lightweight backpack, at least two litres of clean drinking water, hiking boots and sunglasses if it's on a hot summer day.
    Note there are many footpath markers along the way so it should be considerably easy to hike without a guide.
