Good morning! We start breathing fresh air in Werschrumschlüff, natural scenery that could well appear in any scene of "The Lord of the Rings". Park in a small parking lot next to the access to this magnificent gorge of impressive rock formations where you will feel out of this world. Be sure to climb up to the Predigtstuhl (viewpoint) for a beautiful panoramic view and return along the same path.
Werschrumschlüff is one of the best places in the Mullerthal region to see the colorful springtime explosion to see the colorful spring explosion of wood anemones (anemone nemorosa). The "Little Switzerland" has up to 112 kilometers of hiking trails for all levels of difficulty. Here is a map of trails by level of difficulty that can be hiked in this area. The long trails are listed here, but you can hike one of them and come back.

Time to marvel at a 2x1: a medieval castle and another Renaissance fortress.
The Castillo de los Caballeros (medieval) was built during four different periods between 1050 and 1650. In the second half of the 18th century the castle was uninhabited and was used by the neighbors as a quarry, which caused a great deterioration. At the beginning of the 20th century, the new owner of the castle carried out important restoration works after 300 years of neglect. This castle was opened to the public in 1932 and in 1988 it was classified as a historical monument.
The Renaissance Castle was built in 1649 in the romantic valley of Haupeschbach, behind the medieval castle, on the initiative of the Luxembourg citizen Jean Baron de Beck. It has served mainly as a residence. After the death of its last occupant, Madame Anne Marie Linckels-Volmer in 2012, the castle was opened to the public.
Be sure to walk along one of the trails in the adjoining forest. Once done, return to the hotel to take the car and continue on your way.

The castle of Larochette is located on a sandstone cliff 150 meters above the valley of the White Ernz, a tributary of the river Sûre. The main castle is surrounded by a rampart, nowadays quite destroyed, and a deep moat that divides the fortress into two halves.
A bit of history. The Lords of Larochette first appear towards the end of the 12th century as standard bearers of the House of Luxembourg. As early as the 14th century, five great families lived separately inside the castle in their stately mansions such as the House of Homburg and the House of Créhange.
The House of Homburg was built around 1350 as a result of the alliance of the Frederic brothers of the alliance of the brothers Frederic and Conrad, lords of Homburg, and the sisters of Homburg, with the sisters Irmgard and Matilda de Larochette. The House of Créhange was built around 1385.
At the end of the 16th century, the castle burned down and lay in ruins until the 1980s, when the state took possession of it and carried out successive restoration works.

The National Conservatory of Historic Vehicles is a project that became a reality in 1997 thanks to the participation of three partners: the Meris-Wagner family, former owner of the "Jean Wagner Automobile Factory" on rue de Stavelot in Diekirch, the City of Diekirch and the State of Luxembourg.
This museum shows the history of the automobile and motorized land transport since the end of the 19th century with models such as a magnificent 1965 Simca 1000 or classic Fiat 500 and Vespa. The former Wagner automobile factory not only houses the collections of the National Conservatory of Historic Vehicles but the site itself is an architectural and technical heritage of the early history of the automobile in Luxembourg.

Bourscheid Castle gets its name from the homonymous village located on a hill 150 meters above the meandering river Sûr, in the northeast of Luxembourg. This medieval fortress has some structures dating back to Roman times and was first mentioned in a document in the year 1095. Imagine all the stories that have been lived here!
Elements to look out for: the keep, the chapel, the palace with a great hall, the moat, the outer circular wall with 8 towers, the Stolzemburger House, a residential building where cultural activities are presented or the gatekeeper's house which houses a small museum about the history of Bourscheid Castle and the Lords of Bourscheid.
After many vicissitudes, such as the death of the Lord of Bourscheid and the division among his heirs or the end of feudalism with the French Revolution, the castle was abandoned in the early 19th century and fell into ruins. Thanks to being declared a national monument in 1936, the Luxembourg State acquired the property and opened it to the public. Since then, several restoration works have been carried out.
