Play the Queen of Hearts in a Castle on Your Way Home

In the middle of a nature reserve, you will find Rochburg Castle. Founded by the end of the 12th century, this is a very old castle to visit. And that means it is something special. The main structure though is from 1470 and 1548. Read more about the history of the castle here. Of course, the best way to learn about the history of the castle is to go in. Another castle? Yes, but the exhibition you find here is nothing you would expect. You will get to learn everything about playing cards! Yes, I mean the ace of spades, queen of hearts and all those other cards you can play millions of different games with.

While you are gazing over the lake, you get to taste some good German food during your lunch in this Gaststätte. If you are here outside opening hours, there are other places at the lake where you can have lunch. For example, at the campsite. When you are done eating, you can take a little stroll alongside the lake.

At the weekend you can stop here at Geschitenhof Wyhra. In English, it is called a 'story farm'. Here you can learn more about the history and discover natural phenomena in a playful way. You can also enjoy a good cup of coffee on the terrace.

Here you get to learn more about modern technology in mining, noise and dust protection and sustainable on-site re-cultivation. There are several signs with information about the mine. Even if you don't have anything to do with mining, it is an impressive sight and a good place to get out of the car for 30 minutes.

Time to end your trip with one last good meal. Here in LaRi you can enjoy nice food in a very friendly atmosphere while enjoying a good view.
