Escape into the Tatra Mountains for a Very Traditional Polish Experience

After the fast pace of yesterday (literally), it's time to relax in the fresh air and traditional surroundings of Zakopane, in the Tatra mountains. First off, you'll make the most of the incredible aqua park that your hotel is home to. Taking a relaxing afternoon to unwind, with an incredible view of the mountains too.
In the evening, you'll venture into town and have some traditional Polish cuisine, stroll up and down the atmospheric high street, and enjoy a strong beverage or two in a Polish bar.

Another early morning car ride. Take a quick pitstop at Carmello, a cute little café and highly rated. The coffee is refreshing, but there are also some bubble tea options and fresh juices. Great ice creams for summer and filling pastries for the winter. Blueberry cheesecake comes highly recommended. 30 mins here and then it onwards into the mountains!!

You can spend hours here just relaxing and enjoying your surroundings. After a day of heavy history at Auschwitz and adrenaline + junk food at Energylandia, relaxing and doing nothing in your mountain hideaway would not be a bad idea :)
Take a few hours to enjoy what the resort has to offer.
Aqua Park Zakopane boasts an outdoor pool and jacuzzi, an indoor pool with a wave machine, a tidal river ride, four loopy water slides, and an indoor jacuzzi. It's really a great time for both kids and adults. It's a hotel too, but many people from outside the hotel visit the aqua park as a stand-alone attraction.
If you'd rather spend a few hours in the gym and sauna, that's an option too.
Regarding lunch, there are several little cafés on the site where you can grab something super quick like a cola and a sandwich. For a more substantial meal, visit Aqua Bar. The menu has some nice rounded dishes like battered fish or chicken, potatoes, and salad. The ever-present hamburger and fries is a fall-back option.

Walk up and down the central Krupowki street. It's full of interesting sights, sounds, and smells. Restaurants, bars, cafés, trinket shops, and stalls. Reindeer-drawn carriages in the wintertime. Lots of meat, chocolate, and beer. Side streets are bustling with history and interesting new things to explore. Soak up the atmosphere and wonder rather aimlessly for a while. Enjoy the moment, with no particular place to go.

Dinner is at this MUST-SEE restaurant. You'll feel like you're stepping back in time in this traditional and cozy place. The menu is full of local classic dishes. Warm cozy soups, pierogi, and barbecued meat dishes with a heavy side of bread. It's not a place to go if you're on a diet but if you're looking to truly indulge and soak up a traditional Polish mountain food experience, then this is the place to be.
It's more than just a restaurant. There are quite a few places similar to this on the main Zakopane strip, but the food is just fantastic quality and at a reasonable price. Beware, this combination means that the restaurant is extremely popular. Unfortunately, there is no possibility to book. The restaurant is just an absolute gem and well worth waiting for. Prepare to wait in line for 30 minutes or so.

You've probably washed down your food with a beer or three at the restaurant. But now it's time for a quick nightcap before calling it a day.
Don't be fooled by the name of this place. It's a quirky and cozy cocktail bar with cool music. Perfect for summer and winter conditions. Hammocks outside on the terrace or a warm inside area next to the piano. Cocktails are delicious here...particularly the Long Island. It's away from the tourist buzz a bit. So, you feel like you've found a cool little secret place.
