Start your day by visiting the whole country in a short time. Yes, France Miniature is a reconstitution of the main monuments of France on a small scale. It is nice to see them from higher up. And it is a great way to learn about all the monuments France has to offer in the same place. It might give you some ideas for other road trips. The 5 hectares park has 117 monuments, 2000 models and 25 attractions. It is a visit that the whole family will love, no matter how old the members are.

The castle of Rambouillet was a royal residence, then it became a presidential residence. It has hosted a lot of famous people from the history of France. From the 14th century medieval castle, the only remain is the tower where the French King Francois the Ist died and is now named after him. Most of the façades nowadays are from the 19th century. Then the castle had a lot of modifications with the centuries and the different kings. It is very nice to see the rooms inside. And definitely take a walk in the park with beautiful gardens with different styles.

This museum has an impressive collections of trains as toys and models. There are more than 4000 pieces and 400 meters of tracks. You will learn about the history of railway from its beginning to nowadays. A great visit for kids and adults.

Pick up your car, you're going to the woods!

Now, that you visited the cultural part, it is time to visit the natural part. The forest of Rambouillet is huge and there are many ways to visit. You can park your car here and hire a bicycle to go explore the forest on the trails. There is a bicycle rental right next to this parking lot. Check out the "cut throat pond" right next to the parking lot, it is a nice little lake.

You can also explore the forest by just walking and listening to the sounds of nature, enjoying the local fauna and flora. There are a lot of trails for hiking as well. And there are several nice lakes to see. You could spend the whole afternoon here. And on the way back you can also cross the forest by car from a different road to explore a different part of it.

End the day by having dinner at this very nice restaurant with fancy typical French dishes and abundant wine selection. A perfect place to finish your day.
