    • Nature, Landscapes, History, Art, all mixed together.
    • The fort of Fenestrelle: a masterpiece overlooking the Susa Valley.
    • The murals of the small village of Usseaux.
    • Mountains that are theater for skiers in winter: Sestriere and Bardonecchia, the main ski resorts in the Turin area.
    • The Green Lake is the highlight of this itinerary. Suggested especially in late spring and summer.
    • Castles, fortresses, places that tell of Piedmont's defense against French attempts at conquest: the fortress of Exilles.
    • The monumental Sacra di San Michele where religion and mysticism intersect.

The Alps surround us, like an embrace, hard not to love them. Everywhere you turn their peaks follow you. I propose this itinerary that has two different readings: a summer one, green, fresh, flowering; a winter one, snowy, white, hovering. Our mountains have protected us from invasions over the centuries, and this itinerary allows us to discover how man has exercised defense. Discover the Forts of Fenestrelle, which we will visit inside, and then the fortress of Exilles, which we will instead discover from the outside. We will take an immersion in the woods, the trails, the walks that the ski resorts offer us during the summer. We will be dazzled by the green of the Lake. We will discover strong flavors, those of the mountain pastures. We will close our itinerary with the extraordinary Sacra di San Michele: an extraordinary monument built on a mystical, religious axis that connects Canterbury and Jerusalem via the province of Turin.
If you are not fond of walking, this itinerary is not for you :) Climbs and then descents, steps, legs always in motion in weather conditions that are not always favorable. But try something you have never done.

On the Hunt For Colors, From Artistic Ones To Those Of Nature

I guess you have already discovered the Murals of Borgo Campidoglio, the "open-air museum," home of the MAU (Museum of Urban Art of Turin) and therefore you are ready for new colors, those of the artists who painted the Usseaux Murals. Take 3 days, because we are going to discover the colors, in Man's interpretation and in the immensity of nature Let's go! The day is long, the things to see many, so take the highway in the direction of Sestriere to reach Fenestrelle. We are going to visit the Fort. An itinerary through the Piedmont Alps, walking among castles, villages, and the Green Lake above Bardonecchia. Of course, in the winter months, it is necessary to gear up for snowfall. Green Lake is best visited in midsummer. With snow, it is not easily accessible.

    Bardonecchia: Take It Easy

Have a leisurely breakfast, wait until the temperature is warmer, then take your car to Bardonecchia. Today we will walk a lot: we will reach a refuge, leave the car and walk to discover the green lake. We will have a long and beautiful walk, then have lunch at the refuge. We will then leave the lake to reach Bardonecchia and take refuge in the cool air to admire the landscape of these amazing mountains.

Let's Go To Exilles, Where The Fort Awaits Us

We conclude our 3-day itinerary between natural and artistic colors by passing through the Fort of Exilles. Unfortunately, it cannot be visited inside; you will have to be content with photographing it from the outside. But the Borgo is still worth a visit. And we will end on a high note with a spectacular visit to the Sacra di San Michele. We leave the Chalet and go to Exilles.
