Even if hiking isn't 'a thing' for visitors to Airport Mesa Trailhead, the vantage point is a fabulous place for overviews of Sedona and its Red Rock Country. Park in the turnout to the left, which is near one of Sedona's famous vortexes, the Airport Mesa Vortex. Devotees take off their shoes to stand on the red slick rock to better "feel" the energy said to emit from the ground. But even if barefoot believers don't receive higher spiritual perspectives, they're sure to get lofty perspectives of the landscape below.
From the parking lot, walk to the southeast about 100 yards to the top of the small saddle. Turn right to pick up the trail and walk out 15 minutes. Then turn around and walk back to the car for completely different views from the same trail.

Jerome, an old mining town crumbling down the side of a steep mountain, is said to have many haunted sites, including the old hospital, now a ghostly hotel. So what better place to eat than the Haunted Hamburger, a local's favourite since 1994? On a clear day, guests on the suspended outdoor deck will see the San Francisco Peaks, 50 miles away.
Extra time is given here to find a place to park in this fun, mountain town full of narrow, switchbacking streets.

When there is time for only one stop on the Verde Valley Wine Trail, many recommend it should be here at Caduceus Cellars. Maynard James Keenan, singer and primary lyricist of the rock band, Tool, created the Caduceus label for his Arizona vineyard.
When asked about the type of wine he intended to produce, he answered, “My art and music have been described as ‘thick, dense, rich complex, engaging, emotional, and spiritual,’ by those who are fans. And an ‘acquired taste’ for those kind others who are not.” He felt that Arizona aligned with this description and that they were a match made in heaven. “Surely these qualities will be reflected in the wine Arizona will present to us,” he said in 2010.
So stop in for a tasting to decide whether the rocker-turned-vintner accomplished his dream.

From Caduceus Cellars, window shoppers will love ambling down Main Street, looking into the variety of funky shops along the way. Some will poke their heads into The Spirit Room, one of the most historic bars in the state. Once at the Jerome Artists Co-op Gallery, which offers ever-changing selections of art, they'll check the awe-inspiring view out the back window.

Tuzigoot National Monument is a hidden gem of the US National Park system. Curious travelers follow a loop trail through ruins left by the ancient people who lived here around the year 1000.
