Begin your day by exploring the natural landscapes around Copenhagen from Valby beach. This peaceful and comfortable spot is just a few kilometres from the hustle and bustle of the Danish capital.
Here, you can enjoy three of nature's most beloved elements: grass, sand, and sea. During the summer, take a refreshing dip in the cool waters overlooking the beach to energise yourself for the rest of your road trip.

Your journey continues through one of Denmark's pieces of history: Mosede Fort, a gigantic fort that looms over the bay of Køge.
Built during World War I to protect the bay from German attacks, today the fort houses an interesting museum about its history, but most importantly, a protected area where people can enjoy the green spaces around the fort.
It's quite romantic to see how a place that represented war in the past now represents a peaceful meeting place.
I advise you to take a moment to sit in the green area around the fort and contemplate the beauty and tranquillity of this place.

Park here to enjoy the beautiful Jersie Beach.

Another key stop on your road trip is the beautiful Jersie Beach. This protected and unspoiled area is exceptional, featuring a dune landscape that gives you the opportunity to observe various types of birds, especially during their great migration period.
Jersie Beach offers you a privileged view of the natural beauty of our world, and at the same time it is the perfect place to take a romantic walk on the sand.
The beach is also great if you want to go for a swim, although the landscape is magical, especially in winter when I visited, with the dunes contrasting with the surrounding snowy landscape.

Before continuing your route, stop at this charming little typical Danish restaurant overlooking the harbour of Køge.
Here you can savour the typical local cuisine, but above all, enjoy some excellent fresh fish while being lulled by the sight of the placid sea flowing by.

Continue your road trip by stopping to visit the small castle of Vallø.
The castle is truly magical and is embraced by a verdant park populated by imposing old trees. Walking around the park feels like entering a fairy world where myths and legends reign supreme. The moat surrounding the castle is home to swans and ducks that are gorgeous to look at.
Fun fact: if you are a movie lover, you might be interested to know that Vallø Castle was used as a location to film scenes for several Danish films, including the world-famous Gertrud by Danish film master Carl Theodor Dreyer.

As soon as you arrive at the island of Møn, a short walk from the car park will lead you to an impressive megalithic burial monument dating back to the Neolithic period. This is one of Denmark's burial mounds and holds great cultural and historical value.
The expansive green space surrounding the monument offers an unrivalled view, transporting you to an era older than the pyramids and filling you with awe and wonder.
For the more adventurous, you can enter the funerary monument through a narrow opening, but be sure to bring a torch to fully appreciate its unique features.

Park your car here to start your walk in the unspoilt nature of the island of Borre.

This walk on the island of Borre will give you the opportunity to reconnect with the beauty and purity of nature that grows undisturbed on this island.
You will reach Lake Huno, one of my favourite places on the walk, which gives you the opportunity to spend a moment of contemplation in the midst of the wildest nature.

If the River Huno fascinated me, there is no doubt that the imposing cliffs of Møn left me breathless, but above all, speechless to describe their beauty.
The view of the Baltic Sea from the Møn cliffs is unique and unforgettable. Looking down from that height was an incredible moment that I will always cherish. It's no surprise that this cliff was declared one of the most beautiful in Denmark.
For those who would like to admire the cliff from below, there is access to a small beach after descending 500 steps. The ascent and descent can be a bit tiring, but the view definitely makes up for the effort.

Your road trip to discover Denmark's nature treasures continues at a place that has a special place in my heart: the Roneklint Lighthouse.
In this hidden, green natural area, I felt free and walked barefoot along the beach to feel even more in touch with the natural power of this enchanting place.
Unforgettable was the view of the Præstø Fjord.

Before finishing your trip and bidding farewell to the magic of these natural places, there is one more stop to make at the gardens surrounding the Rosendal manor house.
Its grandeur and historical significance, dating back to 1560 when all the farms in the village of Totterup were united into one mansion, will leave you amazed.
Take a stroll through the exterior of the residence and be thrilled by its beautiful gardens.

Before heading back to Copenhagen, all you need to do is treat yourself to a tasty dinner at the Korporalskroen restaurant.
This restaurant offers meat and seafood dishes that melt in your mouth by unleashing the creativity of your taste buds. If you like cooking shows, order a flambé dish and expect a nice surprise.
