Facing the castle of Bled and the lake, the Park restaurant is a great address to have a lunch break. In addition to benefiting from a lovely view, the menu is varied and qualitative as you can eat salads and burgers but also meat and fish dishes. There are also typical Slovenian dishes that you can discover. Their specialty is the famous cream cake of Bled. You must taste this popular dessert that we see in picture pretty much everywhere in the city. This restaurant is one of the famous place to eat this cream-based dessert.

One of the most popular activity to do while in Bled is to take a pletna boat (which is the local boat) to go to the island of Bled. The advantage of this type of transportation is that it is quiet and ecological as a person rows to the island much like a gondolier.
Once on the island, it is the opportunity to climb to the top of the bell tower to enjoy a nice view. The custom is to count the steps up to the church and to ring the wishing bell 3 times. Thanks to this your wish will be granted. You will find easily several stops on the edge of the lake to get a pletna.

The Kavarna Belvedere is known as a first choice place to taste the famous cream cake of Bled. In Slovenian, we call it "kremšnita" and it is made with puff pastry and of course cream.

Ojstrica is the best hike to do in the area because it allows you to gain height and have the most beautiful panorama of Bled. It takes a little over 30 minutes (and it climbs) to reach the first bench and then 5 minutes more for the second bench. The view from the second bench is completely unobstructed and you can see the city at 360°. This hike definitely worths it because during all the climb, the views are amazing.

This is a great address to remember if you want to try the Slovenian food because Pension Resje serves quality local cuisine. On the heights of Bohinj, you will be surprised by this place which knows how to keep the cachet of the old. In fact the decoration doesn't look like much, it is in its own juice but that is also what makes the charm of this restaurant.
