The father of modern electricity, Thomas Edison, lived and worked here for many years. Almost all modern inventions and achievements of civilization today exist thanks to this great man. And the electric car you drove here can be considered part of his legacy.
After the death of Thomas Edison in 1931, his family kept his home intact so that coming generations could see the place where the future was created. Even the clock in the house shows the time when its owner died.
The museum collection includes about 300,000 exhibits that tell the story of Thomas Edison’s life. One of the most interesting is the recreated Black Mary. This is the very first place in history where movies were filmed. Yes, cinema originated here as well!
The museum is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Masks are required for everyone, regardless of vaccination status, in all NPS buildings, crowded outdoor spaces, and all forms of enclosed public transportation.

The Morris Museum has one of the largest collections of vintage musical machines and mechanical dolls. The amazing exhibits will surprise you with the craftsmanship of their makers. Although some dolls are too fragile to demonstrate their mechanics, the museum staff still switch on many of the exhibits to delight the public.
The museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

One of the largest model railways in the world is located in Northlandz. Such a large-scale exhibit is interesting for both children and adults. The owner of the museum has been doing this for 40 years.
The collection includes about 135 locomotives and thousands of train cars. The total length of the railroad tracks is over 8 miles. The model also presents many humorous scenes from the daily lives of railway workers.
Around the museum building, there's a narrow-gauge railway waiting for you to try!

There used to be about 15,000 covered bridges in the United States, and they occupy a significant place in American culture, playing an important role in many books and films. The beautiful love story ""Bridges of Madison County"", which was made into a movie starring Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep, is named after these wonderful structures.
About 500 bridges have survived to this day, and are still used to cross streams, brooks, and rivers. Pennsylvania has the largest number of surviving covered bridges and we suggest that you enjoy as many as possible on your route.
Dreibelbis Station Bridge is one of the oldest covered bridges. It was built in 1869 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.

This bridge was built in 1854 and is still in use today, but be careful: the bridge is quite narrow and limited to one car at a time.

Wertz's Covered Bridge is the largest single-span covered bridge in Pennsylvania - it's 204 feet long!
The bridge is closed to traffic, but you can park your car nearby and walk across.
There are also several museums and interesting monuments nearby. The museums are likely to be closed by the time you get to this point in your tour, but it may be interesting to stop and enjoy the historic buildings from outside.
