Head Over to Rural Norway as You Enter This Scenic Route To See Fjords and Old Towns

Today you will begin your journey in Bergen, The Heart of the Fjords. This beautiful small city is home to some of the most awe-inspiring nature in its surrounding areas, and today you will see some of these amazing sights.

You will commence your route at a very interesting place called Hardanger Maritime Centre. This wonderful little place has a variety of activities and things you can learn such as you can see wooden boats of various sizes being restored, learn about rope making and even use small wooden rowing boats. They also have a small gift shop and a terrace where you can drink a hot chocolate or coffee.

After all the fun at Hardanger Maritime Centre it is time to head over to Smeltehuset for a tasty meal. Smeltehuset has an amazing view on the terrace, great food and extremely friendly service.

After that delicious meal, it's time for a short hike to some awesome views as you hike up Hermodshola. It is only about a 3 KM walk from the car park, which is off the main highway. Hermodshola features a small cave and fantastic views from the top.

As you continue on this exciting adventure around Norway, you will come across a very particular place called Vidsyn - Masken på Vierli. This lovely place features a small statue which represents insight and foresight. You access this spot just by walking a short distance from the car park, which is right off the main road.

After much exploring today, it is time to grab a bite to eat at Skirvedalen Fjellstue. Here you can enjoy tasty treats such as baked goods, hot chocolate or an ice-cold beer.
