From Fiordland to Wanaka Lake

Before leaving Te Anau, it is worth taking an early morning walk along the Kepler Track path - a wonderful walk along the lake. Right before the entrance to the trail, there is a parking space. From the car park to Dock Bay and back - an easy walk between giant ferns under a canopy of lush greenery. Especially impressive are the vast ferns-trees - the symbol of New Zealand.

For dinner in Wanaka plan your visit to Big Fig Wanaka. The popular health food café, run by two sisters, offers a large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes in addition to standard dishes at an absolutely reasonable price. The café is popular, so be prepared to wait a bit for a table to become available. Reservation is not offered.
