The Palace of the City of Perpignan harkens back to a time when the city was the mainland capital of the Kingdom of Majorca, albeit briefly (between 1276 and 1349).
Finished after the year 1300 and in the Gothic style, the construction of this palace recalls Perpignan's status as an economic, political and cultural center of the medieval Mediterranean. From the 16th century, French and Spanish engineers surrounded it with walls to turn it into a citadel.
The palace can be visited inside: you can admire the small Gothic church, gardens, halls and the beautiful inner courtyard. The highlight of the visit is the Tower, from which there is a spectacular view of the city and surrounding area.
If you wish, there is the possibility of guided tours lasting 1:15 h.

There are magnificent views from the beautiful terrace, and the atmosphere here is one of a place out of time.

The visit to this abbey is worth the trip! And definitely worth the steep climb to get here.
Situated between heaven and rock, Saint-Martin du Canigou Abbey is located in the heart of Mount Canigou and appears to the eye as a miracle.
It is impossible to describe the view from up here, nor the sacredness of this place with more than 1,000 years of history that now lives on in the prayers of the monks who live here and in the visitors who respectfully admire this wonderful place.
The interior of the Abbey can be visited exclusively on a guided tour.
