It's up to you whether you want to see the whole site, including the house. You can also go straight to the Temple of Apollo in the garden and stand where the handsome Mr Darcy proposes to his Lizzi. With rather unusual words and far too much honesty. Probably one of the most important and famous scenes from the novel 'Pride and Prejudice'.

The Jane Austen Centre is located in a house in Bath. Unlike the cottage in Hampshire, the centre offers a guided tour of the house with presentations and audio guides about the life of one of the most famous writers. Her writing, and therefore her works, were greatly inspired by her years in Bath. Jane Austen did not like life in Bath and never felt at home. It was only at the cottage in Hampshire that she was truly happy, and this is reflected in her works.
After wandering around the house and hearing all about Jane Austen's years in Bath, you can stop at The Regency Tea Room (in the same building) for delicious scones and tea. Note that the centre closes at 17:00.
