Open Details
After visiting the museums and having your fill of the waterfront architecture, go for a walk along the west bank of the River Deben. Starting at the Tide Mill, just follow the riverside path, keeping the water on your left. Soak up the countryside views of the tidal wetlands, and keep your eyes peeled for wildlife. It's a popular spot for birds! You'll pass boatyards and sailing clubs along the way too.
There are plenty of benches along the trail where you can sit and contemplate the scenery. If you're visiting at low tide, continue your walk by turning left along the track at the end of the riverside footpath. After a couple of minutes you'll reach Kyson Point which offers great views across the estuary. It can be muddy here so sturdy footwear is advised if you want to take in this last section of the walk. Once you've had your fill of the unique saltmarsh scenery, retrace your steps back to Woodbridge.
