Have breakfast in the morning at the dining room in the B&B before your journey back to Detroit. The Inn serves a continental breakfast daily as well as coffee and tea.

For your first stop on the way home, pop into the Farm at Prophetstown to experience what farm life was like in the 1920s. The farm is fun for the whole family, offering the chance to interact with all the free range animals, tour the barn, visit a blacksmith shop, and walk through two farmhouses that act as museums offering a glimpse into family life during the time period. You can pick up some local farm-made goods including fresh vegetables and eggs while stopping. We recommend grabbing lunch at a rest stop on your way from Prophetstown to Wabash, or pack a lunch to picnic with at your next stop.

Park and charge your car here. You can stop at Walmart to pick up food to pack for a picnic for lunch. You can also grab some food for dinner as well if you'd prefer not to stop, where you can picnic later in Fort Wayne.

Take a relaxing stroll and break for lunch at Paradise Spring Historical Park located on the Wabash River. The park offers paved trails to walk on and historical cabins to admire along the trails. The cabins serve as relics of a bygone era — the park once served as a meeting place for treaty negotiations with Native peoples.

Many learned about Johnny Appleseed in grade school, who we remember as the man who introduced apple trees to much of the Midwest. He became an American legend in our memories for his pioneering eccentric story and efforts in conservation. You can visit his resting place within the park, and stop to have the to-go dinner you picked up at a nearby picnic table or bench.
