You don't have to do the whole thing, but if you are so inclined, you have the time and it is worth the experience. It's the most fun in late spring and early summer, before it gets really hot and while the wildflowers and in full bloom. Chelan and the surrounding area overflows with gorgeous balsamroot and lupines in the spring. No parking pass or associated fees are required to visit this site.
