History and Nature Combine on This Journey Through the Valleys of Norway

Valdres Folkemuseum first opened in 1901 and is one of the biggest open-air museums in Norway. Sitting on the banks of Lake Strandefjorden, the museum houses over 20,000 artifacts, 100 historical buildings, and an array of farm animals for visitors to meet.
Open Tuesday-Sunday from 11 am — 4 pm.

Pizza, salads, and both meat and seafood options will be part of the hearty meal you'll have at this roadside restaurant. Proud of their family-friendly atmosphere, they even have a play corner for kids to keep themselves entertained. Marvel at the awe-inspiring architecture of this preserved stave church dating back to 1326. The architecture of this church is unique with one roof built over another and crosses placed on top. You can visit the church on your own or take part in a guided tour.

You'll spend an hour at this campsite to take a breather and a walk along the lake. Potter around the sandy beach or simply sit on the shore and strike up a conversation with one of the campers.

Before heading back to Oslo, grab a bite at this brasserie which serves up cured meats from local farms, fjord trout pastrami, Asian-style mussels in green curry, and a lemon tart with crispy meringue.
