Herceg Novi to Dubrovnik
The third and final day of your Adriatic adventure takes you across the border into Croatia to the stunning city of Dubrovnik! Already a popular tourist destination, Dubrovnik has found more fame in recent years due to it's appearance in Game of Thrones as the location for King's Landing! You'll pay a visit to the Old City and finish your trip at one of the country's best restaurants!

Pasjača Beach
Landmark

Leave your car and take a short walk down the cliffs to this stunning hidden gem!
Pasjaca Beach sits at the bottom of the Konavale cliffs on Croatia's spectacular coastline. Due to it's location, it generally escapes the hordes of summer tourists and remains fairly quiet and peaceful, even in the busy summer months. In the Adriatic, a morning swim is the most popular way to wake up and get you ready for the day ahead!

Fort Lovrijenac
Landmark
Open Details
Built in the 11th century, this impressive fortress was of paramount importance to the defense of Dubrovnik from both land and sea and has been upgraded many times over the centuries!
It's a great spot and popular with tourists who flood the city over the season. My favourite time to visit is around the end of august when the weather is generally a little cooler and most tourists have returned home. During summer it just gets too crowded!
From the fortress, you get a great view of the coastline and over the old town!
As well as it's historical importance, the fortress has gained more recent recognition in popular culture, appearing in Game of Thrones as the setting for the Red Keep in Kings Landing!

Landmark

Next on the agenda, is a must-see when in Dubrovnik! Stradun, or the old towns main walking street!
Stretching between the Western gate and the Old Town's harbour, the Stradun was once a channel that linked the island that the old town was built on to the mainland. It's a great street to wander with lots of quaint cafes for when your legs get tired!

Lokanda Peskarija
Restaurant
Open Details
Time for lunch at a spot I try to visit every time I'm in Dubrovnik!
Lokanda Peskarija can be found in the Old Town's bustling harbour and serves up some of the best seafood in town! It's one of the most popular eateries in town with both locals and tourists, and for very good reason! It's open for both lunch and dinner, however I prefer to go there in the daytime and enjoy the view of the harbour.
If you're not sure what to order then I recommend starting with some fresh oysters and a bowl of mussels! If shellfish isn't your thing then don't worry as the restaurant has a great selection of locally caught fish to choose from as well as a fantastic risotto!
The restaurant is open all day so don't worry about being late or a little earlier than the time I've given you!

Maritime Museum
Museum
Open Details
After lunch you're heading to another of the town's most interesting locations, the Maritime Museum!
It's impossible to ignore the importance of seafaring to Dubrovniks culture and history and the best way to dive into that history is to spend an hour or so walking through the exhibits at this fantastic museum!
The museum is full of artifacts, ranging from shipbuilding tools to items found in shipwrecks off the coast!
The museum does a very good job of demonstrating Dubrovniks links to the sea and the importance that it has played in the lives of residents for over 1000 years.
Please note that the museum is closed on Wednesdays.
