Art and Spa in Karlovy Vary

On the way to your next destination stop and take a view of this beautiful medieval castle.
During the tour, you will have the opportunity to see the Loket meteorite, which fell around 1400, in Margrave´s House.

The castle opens daily at 9:00 AM. Closing times vary according to the months: in July and August it closes at 6:30 PM, from November to March at 4:00 PM, and in other months at 5:00 PM.

Karlovy Vary is also known for its glass artist traditions. Visit the glass museum just outside of town to learn more about crystal making.
You can tour the exhibition and the art gallery, where you will know the story of the glassworks from the early stages to the present. You can use an audioguide to do not miss all the details.
Among the various tours available, I recommend the glasswork tour, which allows you to witness the master glassmakers' creation process.
You'll see how they blow and give form glass in wooden tooling to transform a hot piece of crystal taken from a hot oven into a masterpiece.

You have arrived in the city famous for its spas. Leave your car here and start with a relaxing wellness tour.

Take a seat on the terrace of this restaurant, where you can enjoy an excellent lunch overlooking the river and lulled by the sound of a nearby fountain.
As the menu is extensive, you can ask the staff, who are very friendly, for information. I recommend trying the Czech-style marinated camembert, the cucumber salad, and the butter carp.

Stroll through the streets of the town and pass through this wonderful colonnade containing several hot springs.
Admire the 12 statues representing the months of the year and the more than 100 columns that make up the two isles of the colonnade.
Take a small cup with you or buy one to taste the beneficial water at different temperatures that comes out of each spring.
Keep waling until reaching the Vřídelní kolonáda, you can enter this building to see three different hot springs, the hottest in the area (72°C) and the coolest (30°C).

You cannot visit the spa town without indulging in a couple of hours of relaxation in one of the facilities.

This itinerary could not have ended in a better way. After this relaxing break, return to the car park and get back behind the wheel to drive back to Dresden.

On the way back, I recommend stopping to eat at this pub, which has a wonderful beer garden, as well as outstanding Czech and German cuisine.
I recommend you try the salmon, which they cook divinely, accompanied by a side of dumplings. Everything is exceptional, including the service and the very affordable prices.
