After visiting the beautiful Doge's Palace, depart for the neighbouring island of San Giorgio Maggiore from the same boat station. The local bell tower of the Cathedral of San Giorgio Maggiore is one of the dominant architectural works of Venice, and it’s visible from almost anywhere in the city.
After visiting the observation deck at the bell tower, walk through the Borges Maze with its various plants, paintings and mirrors. Then go to the Cini Foundation museum – an interesting collection of Venetian paintings and sculptures, ancient manuscripts, weapons, porcelain and interior items. This island is like another city within a city, and you can walk around it for a very long time.
