From Stuttgart via Ulm and Neuschwanstein to Innsbruck

From Stuttgart, we set off in the morning for Ulm.

Park your car in the Fischerviertel parking garage so you can explore Ulm's Old Town on foot at your leisure.

In the fishermen's quarter of Ulm there are many houses worth seeing, but the Leaning House stands out in particular, because it is, as the name suggests: crooked. The house, which was built as early as 1406, now houses a hotel. Strolling through the fishermen's quarter you will discover some other great photo opportunities.

The Ulm Cathedral is probably the most famous landmark of Ulm. The church tower is with 161.53 meters the highest in the world and can be climbed to the observation deck at 70 meters, from up there you have a fabulous view of the city of Ulm.

To make sure you are well fortified for the rest of the day, we recommend a visit to Fräulein Berger for brunch. Here you'll find all kinds of delicacies in a cozy living room atmosphere. The breakfast menu with regional specialties is worth noting.

Well fortified, we head back to the car and then to the next stop of the day: the fairytale castle of Neuschwanstein.

Park your car in one of the official parking lots in town. From here you will make your way to the castle either on foot, by shuttle bus or in a horse-drawn carriage. The shuttle bus has no fixed departure times, it leaves about every 20 minutes. More information about the different ways to get to Neuschwanstein Castle can be found here.

If you want to see the inside of the castle on a guided tour, you need a ticket. It is best to buy the ticket in advance online.
Otherwise, you can also buy your ticket here at the Ticket Center. Please note that the tickets are time-bound, so plan your arrival at the castle so that you are there on time for the start of the tour.

The fairy-tale castle Neuschwanstein was built by Bavaria's King Ludwig II at the end of the 19th century. It is probably one of the most famous castles in the world and the best view of the castle is from the Marienbrücke, which you will quickly find during a tour around the castle... just follow the other tourists.
If Neuschwanstein Castle is closed on the day of your visit, you can visit Hohenschwangau Castle or the museum. A visit to this park is really worth it!

After the castle tour, we return to the parking lot, either on foot or by shuttle bus. From here, the tour continues to Innsbruck.

Check into your hotel in Innsbruck's Old Town, freshen up briefly, and then you'll explore Innsbruck on foot.

In Innsbruck's old town everything is quite close together, take your time to explore everything at your leisure. You can't miss the Golden Roof. It is one of the city's landmarks and was covered with 2657 fire-gilded copper shingles.

Right next to the Goldenes Dachl you will find the Altstadtbeisl, here you will have dinner. On the menu are all kinds of delicious Austrian specialties, such as dumplings. Be sure to have a Kaiserschmarrn for dessert.

To get rid of the hearty calories, we recommend an evening walk through Innsbruck. From the Inn bridge you have a great view of the city and the Alps. Especially at this time of day a very special sight.
