From Innsbruck Through the Alps to Switzerland and Lake Constance

From Innsbruck your way leads you through the Alps to St. Anton. The popular and well-known ski resort is ideal for a second breakfast at the Anton Café and Restaurant. Make a short stop here before you continue on your way.

The route continues through the Alps in the direction of Switzerland. Here at the Fünfländerblick you have a fabulous view of five countries: Austria, Switzerland, and the formerly independent states of Bavaria, Baden and Württemberg.

When you arrive in St. Gallen, you can park your car in the Spisertor parking garage.

The collegiate church and cathedral of St. Gallen is one of the city's landmarks. Built in the 18th century, the cathedral is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. By the way, the bell ringing of the cathedral is the soundest in Switzerland.

Picturesquely situated in the old town of St. Gallen is the Wirtschaft zur alten Post. It is one of the oldest houses in the city. In summer, you can sit outside and enjoy the view of the surrounding picturesque houses and the hustle and bustle of the old town. You can reserve a table for lunch online.

The Princely Abbey of St. Gall was founded in 719 and abolished in 1805. The former Benedictine abbey, which is now also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, can be visited today. Every day at 2 p.m. there are guided tours of the abbey library with baroque hall. The abbey and the various exhibitions can also be explored on your own. Tickets can be purchased on site.

Now it's back to the car and your journey takes you along Lake Constance to Konstanz.

Park your car now and check in to the Steigenberger Inselhotel, where you will spend the night.

In just a few minutes on foot you are at the Imperia, one of the city's landmarks, from where you also have a fabulous view of Lake Constance. The statue is nine meters high and rotates around its own axis within four minutes.

The flower arch at Selfiepoint is not only a great photo opportunity, but also the starting point for the Lake Constance boat tours with the Seagull. The last tour of the day departs here at 17:30. Tickets for this can be purchased online.
In 45 minutes you will get a fabulous overview of Lake Constance from the ship.

After the Lake Constance tour, you can explore the old town of Constance on foot. One of the many great photo motifs is the Kaiserbrunnen, it was built in 1897 and humorously alludes to the history of Constance.

On Constance's Obermarkt you will find several houses worth seeing, such as the building "Zum Hohen Hafen" with its impressive facade painting. In the Middle Ages, the Obermarkt was the scene of the municipal court, at that time there was also a pillory at this place.

For dinner today you will stop at Tamara's wine tavern - Zum guten Hirten. Regional delicacies are served here in a rustic atmosphere.
