Innsbruck is a magnificent city, and you will start exploring it with a visit to the Alpine Zoo. This is a special place because here you can witness the results of a program for preserving rare alpine animals. Unique species from wolves to golden eagles can be found here.

Have a walk along the river to the Golden Roof House, a unique architectural object decorated with 2,738 copper gilt tiles, it will blow your mind. It was built in the sixteenth century in honour of Emperor Maximilian’s marriage.
There’s also an interesting exposition inside the building, you will learn about the history of the emperor's life and challenges, his character and his historical period. Have lunch at Il Convento Restaurant, a fancy place which isn’t far. There’s a great variety of menu options and the wine list menu is astounding. The risotto with asparagus and shrimps, for instance, is highly rated or the linguine with mussels and clams, also an excellent option.

Make a short stop in the small town of Lienz to take a break from your long journey. You can park your car at the central train station.

Go out on the river bank. This medieval town is located at the confluence of the Isel and Drava rivers in the middle of the Alps. You will contemplate the top of the mountains, and it doesn't matter which season of the year it is, the views of the area are astonishing.
