Exploring the Wine Region

Start your day with a visit to Loggia del Lionello, one of the oldest historic buildings in Udine. It was built in the central city square and named after Nicolò Lionello, a well-known Italian architect of the fifteenth century. It’s famous for the elegance of the central balcony, as well as the windows and columns of the main facade, belonging to the Venetian Gothic style. There’s an exiting trip to the commune of Cividale del Friuli ahead! The density of wineries is higher than in the well-known Tuscany. You’ll visit the best wineries in this region today. After the tour of the winery, make a stop to have lunch at a restaurant with a view of the commune’s picturesque valleys. You can also try some local wines here, as well as traditional national delicacies. Your palate and your eyes will be amazed the entire time.

Afterwards, you can continue exploring the region’s winery traditions in Azienda Agricola La Tunella S.S., another nearby vineyard. It has enormous grape plantations and a pretty big wine cellar. If you’re not interested in a long excursion, you can visit the shop, where all the sorts of wine produced are available for purchase.

Closer to the evening, head to the Gigante Wine & Welcome winery. In addition to an excellent design, there’s a big spa centre in the hotel. After a hard day exploring the surrounding wineries, the best is to relax in the hot pool and with the bubbles.
