Situated in a tranquil location on a slope of Mount Elikonas, the Monastery of Ossios Loukas is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its unique Middle Byzantine Architecture. The monastery dates back to the 10th century AD, and it was founded by the monk Loukas from Steiris.
In the complex, you can visit two churches. The oldest one stands there since the 10th century AD and is devoted to the Virgin Mary. The second church was built in the 11th century AD.
