Hello and welcome to this trip for the whole family!
A super fun stop will be in this peculiar museum that focuses on the history of Jukebox and pinball but also exhibits video game consoles of all times, cars from different eras and famous movies, motorbikes, mopeds, instruments and devices to play music from all eras.
My children loved it and my husband and I had a good laugh in the old video game consoles area showing them what we used to play when we were kids.
This place is not to be missed, it allows the younger ones to experience how young people had fun in the past, reliving objects of youth from the 50's to the 2000's... They have thousands of things for the whole family to have fun discovering.
The 50's American atmosphere in the restaurant is also extraordinary. We had lunch there, very tasty hamburgers that my children enjoyed very well. The only bad thing is that this place is only open from Friday to Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00 hs.
For more information here is the official website of the museum.

It is an exciting experience to visit the underground streets of Znojmo, a labyrinth of passages with different levels. There are different routes depending on the age of the children/teenagers visiting. We chose the classic route because I have a 13 year old daughter but the youngest is 7 years old and the truth is that it was a good choice because this route is set with various scenarios that are very fun for the little ones and also for the grown-ups.
One important detail, it's cold down there, it doesn't matter if you're outside in a T-shirt and it's warm, down there it's better to take something warm. I left my jacket with my daughter and I froze to death.... I didn't know if I had goosebumps because of the scenes with skeletons or because of the freshness I felt... hahaha!
Here you have all the information about opening times and how to make reservations.
If you get your tickets directly at the box office, please note that they close for lunch from 12:30 to 13:15. This tour, the classic tour, usually lasts about an hour.

If there is one thing that stands out on the skyline of this city, it is the Town Hall Tower... Its gothic finish against the sky gives it a fantastic movie feel... as my eldest daughter said when she saw it (and I felt the same way, I must admit).
Climbing it is quite an adventure if you go with a little one who, as mine did, either ran up it in sections or got tired and sat down for a while... The whole process (going up, seeing the views, coming back down) took us about an hour.
The views are extraordinary, the kids thought it was amazing too, we all enjoyed it a lot once we made it to the top.... (which took a while, but it was worth it).
Here you have the information about timetables and prices. Consider the family ticket when buying your ticket.

When we arrived at this place and saw the building, we were on the verge of not going in, it has a rather unremarkable appearance from the outside, let's say. It would have been a big mistake. As soon as we entered we were amazed by the variety and quantity of cars, vehicles and objects on display.
There are vehicles and machinery that we had never seen before. My little 7 year old was super excited, but so was my teenage daughter even though cars were never her thing... everything there was so much fun and eye-catching for her. We played a game that was very funny: everyone had to choose a vehicle and they had to explain why they chose it and what would they do with it... my little son's witty remarks made us laugh a lot!
Here you have the information about prices and timetables.
Important for the next stop... Leaving this museum, walk to the right and right in front of a car park lot you will see a path that goes up the slope of the castle. I recommend you to follow that path to get up there faster while enjoying the walk and the views.

I am making you walk a lot! I know! But this city must be walked in order to get to know it, something that cannot be done by car and, to be honest, it doesn't have so many car parks so the most convenient is to walk....
But... this is a trip thought to do with teenagers... why do I propose this round tower...? Well... we came in here because I am a lover of history and art history. It turns out that inside this tower, which is from the 11th century, there are some frescoes dating from the same period, which are impressive. These paintings consider the legend of the beginnings of the disnasty of the Premyslites, a royal family from the area of Bohemia and Moravia.
Here comes the good part, my teenage daughter ( who came only to accompany me) was very interested in the tour and asked for an audio guide to understand who the people in the paintings were and to know more about the Rotunda of Znojmo, she loved it!. Sometimes we, as parents, stop doing some things thinking that our children will not be interested in them and then they surprise us. Has this ever happened to you?
We were lucky to be able to go in (only my older daughter and I went in because my husband and the little one preferred to stay in the nearby café, having a drink): To ensure the preservation of the frescoes, only small groups can visit it, and only if it is not raining.
Here you have all the information and you can phone to make sure you can visit it..
Even if you don't enter the Rotunda, I recommend you to go up to the castle area just to admire the view of the river Dyje and the city.

Now it's a good moment for a coffee break or a refreshing drink.... I recommend you to sit here for two reasons: one because it's close by and I've already made you walk a lot... hahahah! And the other is because it has really priceless views. And if you're lucky enough to have the sun going down, as we did, the views become even more idyllic and beautiful.
This bar is open every day from 11:00 to 22:00 hs.

This square is not only beautiful but also the heart of the city... As in many cities in the Czech Republic, it has its plague tower to commemorate the end of the Black Death that struck the country in the 18th century.
It is ideal to visit in summer because it is adorned with flowers, but it is equally beautiful at any time of the year.

Do you think I could convince my children to dine anywhere other than a pizzeria? No, impossible. It was Friday night and that's our official pizza day at home and they didn't want to give up such an important family tradition while on the road... hahah! So we had dinner at this place. I must say it wasn't a bad choice at all, the pizzas were really good and with a great variety of flavours.
My husband and I treated ourselves to dinner with a nice beer and it was a great end to a day full of good family moments.
They are open from Tuesday to Sunday. Open from 16:00 to 22:00 hs except Fridays and Saturdays until 23:00 hs. Mondays closed.
