Visit Boulognerskogen Forest & Overgrown Abandoned Mine

One of the city's biggest parks is a great place for kids and adults. It connects with the city state park. Boulognerskogen or Boulogner Forest is a great place for a stroll, picnic, or for a nice dive in the water. Everyone can find something fun here. There's a playground, hiking trails, beach, and golf. Plus, several other things! In summertime, you can enjoy the cafe that has creamy desserts that will melt in your mouth.

Originally, this was built around an old iron factory. This place has a charm about it and it has been a business since 1782, when they had to sell 150 barrels of aquavit a year. Dining here gives you a taste of history along with appetizing modern food.

Make your way to ICA, one of the main grocery stores in Sweden. There, purchase some scrumptious food and drinks that you may want on a picnic. The plan is to have a picnic in the area that has the overgrown nature. Make sure you get snacks for the next day, since lunch is going to be a bit later.

Once you make it to this extraordinary place, walk to the lake. There are picnic tables near the translucent water. It's so peaceful there and inviting. If you want, play in the water, or start your journey to the abandoned mine. Near the parking area, there's a sign up of a map of the area.
It's best to take a photo with your phone. When I ventured in the cave, I lost my breathe at how dark creepy it felt. Finally, I made it through and the mine had a part that was open. Nature had its way with this and now it has become overgrown with moss and greenery.
