Lake Number Two: Geiseltalsee
Good morning! How was your night? Yesterday you arrived at the Geiseltalsee and had already seen a bit, but today you will see more of it. In winter the lake is nice and quiet and you can enjoy the fresh air, the cool breeze and serene views, but in summer the lake comes to life. There are festivals and events and a lot of tourists. You can check here if there is anything special to do around the lake during your trip.

Löchriger Stein (Menhir von Gerbstedt)
Open Details
This isn't just a rock, this is a menhir- a tall upright prehistoric stone. And this one is part of a legend told by the famous Brothers Grimm.
The story goes as follows: A thunderstorm before the Battle of the Welfesholz made the stone very soft. A count named Hoyer could therefore reach into the stone with his hand. He swore that as surely as he could reach into the stone, he must also win the coming battle.
Somehow people seemed to think that stones like these got soft by thunderstorms and that was the only time you could put nails into them. Here you can read more about the Menhir von Gerbstedt.

After two days of travelling, you must be hungry. You will end your road trip at this comfy restaurant where you can enjoy typical German food (which is nice and plenty) in a typical German Biergarten. The atmosphere here is very nice, so don't be surprised if you stick around after dinner. Of course, you don't drink and drive, but if you are in the passenger seat you surely can enjoy a big beer. Prices are low, which is also great!
