For your first stop on the way home, pop into the Farm at Prophetstown to experience what farm life was like in the 1920s. The farm is fun for the whole family, offering the chance to interact with all the free range animals, tour the barn, visit a blacksmith shop, and walk through two farmhouses that act as museums offering a glimpse into family life during the time period. You can pick up some local farm-made goods including fresh vegetables and eggs while stopping. We recommend grabbing lunch at a rest stop on your way from Prophetstown to Wabash, or pack a lunch to picnic with at your next stop.

On your way into Fort Wayne, stop to charge up and refill yourself with hot coffee and sandwiches at the nearest restaurant like Sonic.

Take a relaxing stroll and break for lunch at Paradise Spring Historical Park located on the Wabash River. The park offers paved trails to walk on and historical cabins to admire along the trails. The cabins serve as relics of a bygone era — the park once served as a meeting place for treaty negotiations with Native peoples.

Many learned about Johnny Appleseed in grade school, who we remember as the man who introduced apple trees to much of the Midwest. He became an American legend in our memories for his pioneering eccentric story and efforts in conservation. You can visit his resting place within the park, and stop to have the to-go dinner you picked up at a nearby picnic table or bench.
