Blue Spring water has been filtered for over a century, giving it that beautiful blue color and super purity. The water is so pure that it is bottled and sold in New Zealand. A full round trip on the trail will take about three hours. But, if time is limited, you can enjoy a short 15-minute walk each way by parking your car in the car park on Leslie Road.

Pick up your car and go futher to visit the Hobbits

A visit to the hobbit village is only possible with an organized tour, but this is exactly the case when it is worth it. The filming location is located on the territory of a private farm. You will be taken to the set and back by bus.
Park your car here and go to the Shire's Set. After parking, you have to The Shire's Rest ticketing center no later than 15 minutes before your tour is due to depart.

During the trip to the village, you will be amazed by the incredible beauty of the area and feel like a fairy tale, as if you were in the Shire. No wonder these landscapes were cut out for filming the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbits - nature has created incredible scenery here. The lush green pastures and hills shown in the movies are even more magical in real life, and the hobbit houses are impressive up close.
You will be able to explore several different hobbit houses, as well as a vegetable garden and a pond, before heading up the big hill toward the legendary home of Bilbo Baggins and learning an impressive story about the iconic oak tree on top of the house.

On the stone bridge, which crosses the pond with a mill with a rotating water wheel, you will get to the hotel "Green Dragon". After a walk, it's time to quench your thirst with ale or cider in the tavern by the blazing wood-burning fireplace.
