Porto Moniz is a charming little town surrounded by mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. It is a place famous for its magnificent natural saltwater pools formed by volcanic rocks.

First stop are the natural swimming pools of Porto Moniz. The natural pools fill with the tide, when the waves submerge the rocks.
Over time, these swimming pools have become a veritable well-appointed, maintained and supervised seaside resort, in a setting of great beauty! Walk around and have a quick swim if you fancy it.

TIme to head towards the next stop. Get back in the car and enjoy the scenic drive going up the mountain. Pay attention to the radical change of scenery, the vegetation, the colours, the smell. It is a wonderful experience.

You have now arrived at the magical place of Fanal Forest. As soon as you get here, you are immersed in the magic of the place.
Twisted trees, mystic fog and magical scenery are on the program. Even the cows are hanging out near the parking lot.
Leave your car at the parking lot and let's start the exploration. There is no proper way to visit the place. Just wander around and enjoy the mind-blowing scenery.

Fanal is one of Madeira's large laurel forests, located in the northwest of the island. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. The forest is one of the last primary forest in Europe and you can feel the history of the place. The energy and the trees are from another dimension. If you are lucky, there will be fog, which makes the place atmosphere even more special. Walk around and let yourself be transported by the place.

On your way to the forest point, walk around, climb the hill to enjoy a magnificent view over the ocean. Some days, you will be above the clouds. This place is enchanted.
Then head towards the next stop. Get back in the car, hold on and enjoy the beautiful scenic drive you are about to experience. You will first go through the highest point of this side of the island before going down. Check out the change of scenery. Madeira feels like a continent by itself.

On the way down, let's stop at the Pico da Murta viewpoint. The view over the valley is stunning. Take some pictures, walk around a little bit and let's continue the scenic drive.

You arrived at Serra. The famous town that produces the local rhum, Aguardente. Back in time, pirates would drink it in order to kill any disease they might get. The small village is famous for its poncha, the local drink. Try the passion fruit poncha, it's delicious.

Anjos waterfall is a fun experience! The waterfall falls down directly on the road. This is the opportunity to get a car wash. For the most adventurous, get down from the car and run under the waterfall.

You are now heading to the first digital nomad village in the world. The town of Ponta do Sol is beautiful and is known to have a nice micro-climate. It is always a bit warmer here.
