It's day one of your road trip through the Southwest. The journey begins in Phoenix, continues through Sedona and wraps up the day in Flagstaff. You'll have plenty of time, but since this is an afternoon journey, watch the clock carefully to maximize daylight while driving by beautiful desert landscapes.

Wake up early and enjoy the free hot breakfast served in the hotel lobby (available between 6:30 and 9 a.m). You'll want to hit the road by 8 a.m. to make the most of your time at the Grand Canyon. The day wraps up with a jaunt north to your hotel in Lake Powell.
