A Day On Water, From Valeggio Sul Mincio And Borghetto To Sirmione

When you arrive at Sigurtà Garden Park, you can take a very comfortable panoramic train that will take you to discover the entire park and all the beauty inside!
There are so many things to see and definitely photograph: the flowering ponds, the Red Waterlily Pool, the Avenue of Roses, the Turtle Pool, the Labyrinth, and more!
There is an entrance fee and the little train is separate but not bookable.

When we arrive in Borghetto we leave the car and head for the Visconti Bridge.

The ancient bridge, built in the late 1300s and 650m long, is visible from all over the village, overlooking the Mincio River and the small village.
Taking a walk, from the bridge-fortress it is possible to observe Borghetto, a hamlet of Valeggio sul Mincio, enjoying the most beautiful view of the village.
In June it is the site of the "Nodo d'Amore" festival and hosts a full-length table where you can taste "love knots," Valeggio's famous tortellini.

The old watermill in the center of the hamlet of Borghetto is one of the symbols of Valeggio sul Mincio.
Not many water mills are still functioning, and this is one of them.
Reminiscent of a not-too-distant past, located on the thriving waterway, it is a very charming and relaxing place thanks to the pleasant sound of the river.

Here, too, we can find a place dedicated to lovers, and among the mills we can find an iron grate sprinkled with padlocks sealing the feelings of couples who have passed through there.
If in a couple, equip yourself with a padlock and prepare to throw the key to declare eternal love to each other.

When we arrive in Sirmione, we change the style of discovering the area and instead of walking, we can enjoy four hours by boat discovering the most beautiful places on the Garda coast.
Among the many stops, you will not only see beautiful places and monuments from an unusual perspective, but if you go in the summer, you will also have the opportunity to swim in the waters of the lake!
The tour also includes a wine tasting and accompanying appetizers.

The times included report 2 hours of the boat trip so that we can offer alternatives to those who are unable to attend the first one for logistical or other reasons.

Remember that if you decide not to participate in the boat tour, arrive by 2 p.m. and spend two hours here.
The Catullus Caves represent the ancient ruins of an open-air Roman villa. This wonderful natural terrace overlooking Lake Garda is a must-see.
In addition to the lush villa, from which you can enjoy a priceless view of the Lake, a visit to the gardens and olive groves is noteworthy.
Inside the archaeological site it is possible to visit the Archaeological Museum of Sirmione, which houses some of the oldest artifacts from the Peninsula itself.

The Scaliger Castle is practically the only way to access the ancient village of Sirmione. It, built in the second half of the 14th century, originated as one of the most spectacular examples of lake fortification.
This fairy-tale place to visit at sunset to enjoy the magic given by the lights and colors of the Lake and the coast.
